Script for Aarhus Film Competition - topics: ilusion, car
It's a story of a car toy; I will refer to it as
"she" :) So she stays in a toy store quite on a shelf.
SEQUENCE 1,
TOY STORE
The film starts
with close-ups of many toys from a toy store. They suddenly start talking to
each other about where they want to go.
One of them is asking the God of toys:
I want to be in the hands
of a good child, that takes care of me and puts me on the most visible shelf
from the house so everybody can see me;
The
doll
I want a rich family to
buy me. The girl must be fashion addicted because I don’t like my outfit and I
realy need a new one
The
plane
I want to be in a big yard so it can fly
Teddy
bear
I want a place where there
aren't animals, because I don’t want to be the bitch of some dog, or worst of a
cat.
The
car
I only wish a child that doesn't
destroy it.
In the same time
somebody grabs the car am puts it into a basket.
SEQUENCE 2,
APARTMENT
Shoots are filmed from the point of view of the car. The
man that bought her arrives at home and puts the bag somewhere. The car's heart
beats really loud because she is waiting to see her next owner.
We here the voice
of the man that talks with his wife. Somebody takes the box and opens it. It’s
the wife. She is mad with her husband that he bought a toy car and not an
educative game. We hear the voice and steps of a child that steps down the
stairs. He takes the car out of the box. The car's heart is beating louder and
louder. The boy looks straight at the car with a sadistic look.
The
car
OH NO
He starts playing
with it. His parents advice him to say thanks for the gift. They nag him
because of his behaviour and they take the car and put it on a shelf so the
child can't reach it. The car is happy now.
SEQUENCE 3,
APARTMENT
One morning the child starts building his way up to the
car. The puts a chair to reach it.
The
car is saying first:
No you won't reach me. Ha
ha ha.You won't have the chance to destroy me. Na an na na.
We see then that the child puts some books on
the chair and tries again to reach the car. He can't do it. He is annoyed about
this and the car is happy.
The
car:
No, you won't touch me
again. I will just spend the rest of my life on this shelf.
The child tries again. His
father comes into the living room.
The
car:
ha, what were you thinking
little boy, that you can just take me and play with me? It's about time some
adult handle this situation. Bad boy!
His father actually takes the car and gives it to the
child.
The
car:
NO NO NO I trusted you!
SEQUENCE 4,
APARTMENT
The boy threats the car bad. He throws she into the
wall. Parts of the car are falling.
The
car:
Ouch, ouch, don't do
this....
In the end the car is laying exhausted on the floor, tea
red apart in many pieces.
SEQUENCE 5
The mother takes all the pieces and somehow feels sorry
for them and puts them intro a bag into the garbage outside the house.
Time-lapse - the night passes. A guy who is searching for garbage finds next
day the pieces. He brings them to his place and starts building something.
SEQUENCE 6
Last shoot is with the car who on a garbage box. The car
is convertible. The man built a new car from the old parts. It looks different,
but it's the same car. The heart of the car starts beating again.
